Winter Vacation

We had a really busy and fun-filled winter vacation. I am sad school is starting for Asher and Sage tomorrow because it has been really fun sleeping in until 7:30 every day. We went to Six Flags twice, Sea World, the zoo, Galveston for a mini-vacation with cousins, a Zumba party, as well as several playgroups and playdates thrown in for good measure. Asher also had his 8th birthday too! We were busy having fun!
Here are some pictures from the trip we took to Moody Gardens in Galveston with Shari, Mike, and the cousins. We drove down Wednesday night and checked into the hotel. The next morning after breakfast we went to the rain forest pyramid and a 3D IMAX movie about oceans. Very fun! We then went on a paddle wheel boat and had lunch onboard. We also saw a 4-D movie, decorated cookies, did crafts, got tinsel in our hair, ate seafood on the seawall, and saw the festival of lights while drinking hot chocolate. It was a long fun day. The next morning we took the kids to play on the beach. We just put them in their clothes because it was a little chilly (hello, it's December?!?) and we thought they could just dip their feet in. So much for that idea. They were all soaking wet but they did have a blast! Kelton was the first to go in albeit accidentally. He was running away from a wave and tripped and faceplanted. We all laughed because he looked so funny and he was livid which was even more funny. : ) After the beach, we hit up a candy store and then drove back to San Antonio. Christmas Eve & Christmas

We had a really fun Christmas Eve and Christmas. Rulon had to work on Christmas Eve but the rest of us went to a fun party at our friend's the Knights house. Sage performed a dance with some of her friends (Here on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S0j0GqK3Q8&context=C33226edADOEgsToPDskKrIg8jft9aJOaXo1PRCKOS) and they acted out the nativity. Kelton and Asher were both wisemen and Sage was a shepherd.

We had a nice Christmas morning and Rulon didn't have to work until noon so that was nice. The kids slept in until 7:20 and Rulon and I were actually up before them. Weird! : ) We opened presents and then got ready for church. Rulon went to work in the afternoon. We were just lazy and played with our new toys all day. It was lovely!

Dear Santa...

Last night we went to Bass Pro Shop to visit Santa and send the kid's lists to Santa in the mailbox they have there. Monday night at 4:30 is totally the time to go as there were no lines. They have a new free carousel which was fun. AND everyone took decent Santa pictures. That's a first! Here are their pictures and lists for 2011.

Preschool (finally!) for Kelton

Kelton has been waiting a very long time to finally start preschool. To say he was excited is an understatement. He goes one day a week and is in the orange class with Ms. Vicki. My little man is growing up!

Labor Day Weekend

Over Labor Day weekend, we drove up to Dallas to visit Shari and Mike. The kids of course loved playing with their cousins. I'm always amazed at what similar interests Jake and Asher and Sage and Afton have and they even tolerated Kelton being a pest! On Saturday morning we went out on Shari and Mike's boat. We had so much fun waterskiing (Rulon & I), tubing (everyone), and playing in the water. By we, I mean everyone but Kelton. He really hates lifejackets and unfortunately everything we did that morning involved him wearing one so he didn't have the best time.The fam on the tube

That afternoon we went to a splash pad/ pool. Jake & Asher were in the big pool diving for stuff so I don't have pics of them.Sage and Kelton loved this slide and did it over and over. Sage also did a bigger slide with Afton a few times.

On Sunday we went to church and then just relaxed.

Monday morning, we had some girl time while Rulon entertained the boys. Shari, Afton, Sage, and I got feather extensions in our hair. Sage and afton were thrilled with their purple ones, Shari got blue, and I got red. I really like mine but it makes me want to dye my hair some funky color!

There was a DSW next door so we had to stop in. Sage and Afton picked some lovely shoes to try on.

Back to School

Back to school time!

Asher is in Mrs. Miller's 2nd grade class. He was excited to see a lot of kids he knows in his class.

Sage is in Ms. Powell's kindergarten class. She came home very excited today and didn't stop chattering until she went to bed.

Fashion Show

Sage and Kelton put on a fashion show with their new back to school outfits. Asher, typical boy, didn't want to participate. : )
