Halloween

Finally Halloween! It was actually not that great of a day for me as the plumbing on the whole upstairs was backed up due to little girls flushing enormous amounts of toilet paper and Kelton had an unexplained rash on his face but the kids had a good time.

I took Asher and Sage trick-or-treating on our street while Kelton passed out candy with Dad and smiled at all the trick-or-treaters. Asher did great trick-or-treating and was very brave. A couple of the houses on our street get very into the holiday. One house had live actors jumping out of graves and a clown with a meat cleaver. I asked Asher if he really wanted to go up to the house and he said that super heroes aren't scared of anything and off he went. Characteristically, Sage jumped into my arms and screamed at the top of her lungs from the sidewalk. Even now, she says, " I like trick-treating, I 'fraid clowns."

I don't know what causes all of her fears, but she has many. Yesterday at the library, the letter was H so the kids were pretending to be hot dogs and were rolling themselves in blankets. She heard the word "dog" and started screaming at the top of her lungs, "I scared dogs! I scared dogs!" So much for only whispering in libraries. I shouldn't complain though, she seems to be over her fear of bunnies and chicks now so I guess we're making progress. : ) She also tried to go to the bathroom standing up yesterday like Asher does. I stopped her just in time and had to explain that there are a few ways in which boys and girls are NOT equal!

Sage is going to be scarred for life with the clowns with meat cleavers. Poor kid. Start saving up for therapy now!
