For the birds
So I had no idea that when I bought a hanging pot of flowers for the back patio that I was creating a bird sanctuary. We now have a complete ecosystem hanging on our back patio. We have 4 hummingbirds that constantly have turf wars over the hummingbird feeders. We have wasps that sip the sugar water in the feeders. I have noticed two birds that hang out around the pot and suspected they were building a nest so yesterday I peeked in and sure enough there was a nest with at least two already hatched baby birds and two eggs yet to hatch. The kids enjoyed seeing the nest too. I think the birds are house finches. The male is brown with a red breast and the female is all brown. So yeah, I've been bird-watching this week!
