Random Thoughts

Today was so fun! Rulon was actually home most of the day. He has had a crazy week and will continue to be gone most of the time until after May. We went to the Magik Theater(children's theater)downtown to see Junie B. Jones. It had been recommended to me so I had high expectations but it was even better than I expected! I thought Asher would enjoy it but both he and Sage were literally on the edge of their seats the whole time with their eyes glued to the stage. Not bad for their first play. I think we'll get season passes next season.

Asher was helping Rulon prune some trees in our backyard today. Rulon noticed Asher placing a brick carefully on the dirt by one of the trees.

Rulon: Asher, why are you putting that brick there?

Asher: So the dirt won't move Dad.

Rulon: I don't think that dirt is just going to move. It will probably just stay there.

Asher: Dad, sometimes dirt moves up and forms a volcano and we don't want that to happen.

So now our yard is safe from volcanoes, at least in that brick-size area. : )

Last Tuesday I made an impulse drive to the San Marcos outlets. For my birthday, Rulon is getting me new Corelle dishes but we haven't been able to find them in-stock at any stores around us. On Tuesday, after dropping Asher off at pre-school, I drove to a Walmart on the northeast side of town that had the dishes in-stock according to their website. No luck! Since I was already halfway to San Marcos, I decided to drive the rest of the way and check out the Corelle outlet. I found the dishes I wanted!
Yeah! I love that they are so simple yet slightly different since they're square. I'm so excited to get rid of my hodgepodge of unmatched everyday plates and bowls. I'm not going to use them until my birthday so I'll have something to look forward to.

New dishes! LUCKY! Every birthday/chirstmas for the past 3 years I've been wanting dishes! Those are cute ones too! Asher is such a cutie.

Now your dishes won't roll around in the dishwasher AND your dirt won't move. You guys are set!

My kids are arguing over whether Flicker the flashlight on HandyManny is a girl or a boy. I'm just not sure how to answer...
